Every kid is different as well as their mental development. There are many factors that surround a child’s progress and that include genetics, their environment and the people around them. There are children who learn to read faster while there are kids who develop other skills better. If you notice, there are some kiddies at school who talk more while others stay quiet and they seem to enjoy observing more. This is only because nobody is created equally and every individual is different – this is where character development comes in.

For growing kiddies, there are many awkward stages that they go through like the changes in their physical appearance, their bodies develop and even their mental state changes as their character molds into maturity. Because of these, they feel embarrassed or ashamed. Although this doesn’t happen to all kids, there’s still a big chance that yours might be one of those extreme introverts. When they suffer from this, they are too shy to go around, making new friends seems impossible, talking to their new classmates seems like a task and they are having a hard time communicating. Their social skills are too low making it difficult for them to open simple conversations. This is a common situation amongst kids and you don’t have to worry as a parent because they are many ways on how you can prevent his from happening. Through the use of technology, you can let your kiddies have an outlet where they can express themselves freely through free blogging sites. Writing may look like easy but it always develops creativity amongst children. All you have to do is teach kids to write their feelings or whatever they want to put out there and it’s already a great way to let them speak their minds out without forcing them to become instantly extroverts.

It is always good to encourage your kids to do things that will develop their minds but we also have to remember that character development is important. One good exercise is through writing. These introvert kids have a hard time expressing themselves using their mouths and the best way to resort this problem is to let them write so they can address how they feel about a certain situation. They may be silent and observant but at least you get to know what they feel inside. Through online blogs, they can make a journal about the things they see and experience around them. There are plenty of free blogging sites online where they can customize its look and how they want to be put up. They can talk about anything and you can encourage them to write the things about what interest them. Creative writing is an important developmental skill amongst children as it widens their vocabulary, it helps free suppressed emotions, it expands their imaginations and creativity, it practices grammar and most importantly, it’s a great way to keep their minds active. All you have to do is teach kids to write and let them express how they feel through writing. Who knows, your kiddie might be the next Paolo Coelho!

Like most people before, they keep diaries or journals in their bedside so whenever they want to write something memorable or if they are feeling emotional, they write them in their little books. But with today’s technology, you can have your own personal diary/journal online. You can set it to be private or if you want the public to see it, it is really up to your kid. Through your tablets or laptops, you can access free blogging sites such as WordPress, Tumblr or Blogspot where you can teach kids to write whatever they want. Tell them that suppressing emotions or hidden feelings is not a healthy practice so if they can’t share it through verbal communication, they can at least work on it through written forms. It might be hard at first to ask your kids to open up about how they feel, but through constant encouragement and the right reinforcement, they will eventually let their walls down.
